The choice of leadership selection

An important part indeed, leadership selection is at the core of any organizations developmental strategy. When selecting your future leaders there are quite a few pointers to consider. Below I have listed a few tips for you, a few questions to ask yourself in your leadership selection process.

  • Is the person open minded and willing to learn? Over and over it has been provend that effective leaders are able to adapt and learn new things.
  • Is the person a good listener? We were born with two ears and one mouth. This holds as much value in leadership selections as it does in the rest of life.
  • Does the person take initiatives? You want a person who can act, not just a follower. It might feel more comfortable to you with somebody you can control, but leadership is action.
  • Does the person care about his or her co-workers? Mother Teresa said there were two questions leaders needed to ask themselves; do you know your co-workers and do you care for them?

This was some ideas for your leadership selection process. Good luck and get to it!
