I just recently did a series of interviews with senior leaders in an international company and I was struck by some thoughts on leadership and learning. This was to prepare for an upcoming training with this group leaders and I asked them about their wishes and expectations for the training.
Strikingly many of them pointed out how valuable an opportunity this would be to learn from one another. It seems to me, not just in this one company, there is such huge potential in leaders learning from each other. Cross section exchange of knowledge, experience and insights.
Often times I find that this valuable resource is minimized due to restraints of time, money and what ever else. Looking long term though, organizations that create this kind of leadership learning and internal mentoring have such great gains to make.
